An old mobile or manufactured home that can no longer be moved has to be taken apart where it sits. That means shutting off and capping the gas, electric, water and sewer connections, removing the home and everything attached to it, and hauling the metal, wood and insulation to the right facilities.

Who has jurisdiction depends on where the home is. On a private lot it is usually the city or the county; inside a park, the state housing department is often involved, and the home's registration may need to be cleared before it comes down.
