Taking down a building is mostly planning. Before the first wall comes down, the permit has to be approved, every utility has to be disconnected and capped, older materials have to be checked, and the neighbors, sidewalk and street have to be protected.

We handle that sequence for property owners, investors, builders and design-build firms: permit and inspections, utility disconnects, the demolition itself, sorting and recycling of concrete, metal and wood, and a clean, rough-graded lot ready for the next phase.

When only part of a building has to go, we do selective demolition: interior strip-outs, additions and rear structures removed while the rest stays standing and protected.

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of buildings do you demolish?

Residential and light commercial buildings: houses, duplexes, small apartment buildings, small retail, office and warehouse buildings, barns and other outbuildings. For high-rise or industrial work we will tell you honestly that it is not our scope.

Do I need a permit to demolish a building?

Yes. Bay Area cities require a demolition permit, and most require utility releases and a hazardous material check first. We prepare the application and coordinate the inspections.

What about asbestos and lead?

Buildings built before the 1980s often need an asbestos and lead check before demolition. We coordinate the survey and, when required, licensed abatement before demolition starts.

Can you demolish only part of a building?

Yes. We do selective demolition, such as interior strip-outs, additions and rear structures, while protecting the part that stays.

How much does building demolition cost?

It depends on the size and type of building, the foundation, access, required abatement and the permit. We give you a free, written, itemized quote after an on-site visit.
